Yes, it's been a little while since I've blogged...although the last month has felt uneventful, I guess it's been quite the opposite! I started my first job as a hygienist on October 1st, and I've really enjoyed it. I am working part time for Dr. Michael McHugh, and it's awesome! I'm not making anywhere near as much as my fellow hygiene graduates who are working full time, but this way, I finally get to spend more time with Gavin...something I haven't really had the pleasure of doing since I started back in school (right after Gavin turned 1).
One week after starting my job, on October 9th, I had to call an ambulance to come to the house to get Todd, who'd passed out on the bathroom floor, apparently a reaction to a painkiller he had been prescribed earlier that day. I thought he had been seizing, so I called 911. He spent 5 days in the Portneuf Medical Center, while they ran test after test to find out the cause of the pain for which he'd taken the painkiller, and finally gave it the broad diagnosis of panniculitis. (A side not to everyone who knows how accident prone I am...I fell on the ice in the hospital parking lot, during a freak snowstorm, and bruised my tailbone)... Luckily, Todd has completely recovered, and, returned to work, getting the new Costco ready to open..a week later.
October 23, COSTCO opened! Yay! We've been really excited and anticipating the opening, since there were so many things we were waiting to buy.
I tried to get a better picture, but it just didn't work out that way. The new store is doing great! They've done much better than they anticipated, and Todd is really enjoying his new workplace, althought he's been busier than ever.
This is Gavin on the dinosaur at Costco. It took several trips and a lot of coaxing to get him to actually get on the dinosaur. The only thing this dinosaur doesn't do is walk, and it's totally cute.
For Halloween this year, Gavin wanted to be a bat, among other things! I had ordered his bat costume right before he changed his mind...he wanted to be a ladybug...and then a princess...and then Spiderman...Batman...and so on...
Turns out, he was a bat.
We're still trying to get the whole idea of "trick or treat". This year, as people put candy into his little pumpkin, Gavin pulled it back out and examined it, asking why they put the candy in there. He was so concerned about it,I had keep reminding him to go to the next person handing out candy. Most of the time he just walked past everyone who was trying to give him candy! Maybe next year we'll have the entire jist of Halloween!
On a last note, this morning, as I was putting the mail in the mailbox...(and this could only happen to me) I rolled my ankle off the curb, landed on my backside, and sprained my ankle. I've fallen UP the stairs twice in the last week, leaving toe-nail polish skidmarks down the side of the stair, and jammed my finger. I don't think I've ever had this many things wrong with me all at the same time...and I certainly hope my streak of bad luck stops soon, or there won't be much left of me that isn't bruised. Currently, I have a bruise on my left elbow, down the side of my left hip and leg, my left knee, a sprained left ankle, roadrash on my left foot, a bruised tailbone and a jammed finger on my right hand. How does everyone else go through life managing NOT to fall down all the time???

Jodi, hearing your injuries makes me cringe! You need to be more careful!
Hey clutzberry...maybe we need to put nonslip pads on the bottom of your feet and shoes or get you some yaktraks for your bare feet. Haha.
Wow Jodi! Look at your life! Crazy!
Jodi- Gavin is a super cute bat- looks like he had a good time. I had no idea how accident prone you were! So I wish a happy recovery to all your bruised parts!
I'm glad work is going well for you and that you are able to spend more time with Gavin!
Congrats on so many things!! We miss you guys and look forward to meeting Todd, if he isn't sick of meeting the family already. We've put your blog in our favorites and will continue to check things our and keep in touch!
