It's a Charlie Brown Christmas....tree

Since Todd had a day off today, we all got up and started cleaning the house so we could put up our Christmas decorations. Yes, I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but Gavin's been asking for weeks now to put up a reindeer. We finally did it. Todd lugged in all the Christmas decorations, and Gavin started helping me put up the Christmas tree. After all the boxes were taken back outside, Todd brought in a little Christmas tree (my Christmas tree that I put in my bedroom when I was growing up) and now Gavin gets to follow that tradition. I remember spending hours decorating my little two foot tree, trying to arrange the lights and tinsel like my mom did on the big family tree; then trying to arrange the oranments perfectly (even thought the tree probably only has twelve branches). It even had a silver blinky star on top. So naturally, I saved everything, and tonite Gavin got to decorate the tree all by himself...with a little help on the lights and tinsel. Plus he added some of his own decorations he'd made last year at preschool. It's definitely a "Charlie Brown tree", but he's so proud of it, and it's the prettiest tree ever.

How fun! Our kids have their own trees too. That is their FAVORITE part of decorating for Christmas, funny huh?
