We had an awesome Christmas! We spent the night of Christmas Eve at home, just Todd, Gavin and I. Gavin didn't get a nap that day, so while we were driving around looking at Christmas lights, poor little Gavin zonked in the backseat. Luckily he was already dressed in his Christmas Eve jammies (polar fleece rocket pj's) and so we just had to bring him home and put him in bed.
Christmas morning, Todd and I expected Gavin to wake up pretty early and run out into the living room to see what Santa brought, but he was so used to his regular routine, it didn't even occur to him that Santa had come! Finally he ventured out into the living room to find red and green transformers, and the hook helicopter he'd been asking for. It was so fun watching him open presents. He was so excited about the present he'd just opened that he forgot about all the presents that he still needed to open! He kept wanting to play with that present...and we kept having to coax him to open another present. (Although he wasn't too thrilled with the other pair of pajamas that were under the tree....at least it wasn't underwear...) Then we spent the rest of the day up in Idaho Falls with my family. Todd finally learned just how well I cheat playing card games!
We tried to go outside to make a snowman, so we could use the snowman kit, but the weather has been so cold that the snow wouldn't stick together.
Then Gavin got to open his presents. It was so fun watching four 4 year olds. They were all telling Gavin what they'd gotten him (before he opened them) and then they all jumped in and helped him open presents. Gavin was paying attention to the one he'd just opened, and the other three would be working on opening the rest of the presents for him. The all time favorite present was a huge school bus/firetruck pop-up tent that everyone immediately ran inside and started jumping around and giggling and having SO much fun!
Gavin was mostly excited about his Spiderman cake. He will tell you that his cake was SO COOL! He kept peeking in the fridge all day to look at it. Then when he realized that we were actually going to EAT it, after he blew out the candles, he got very upset...and wouldn't eat the cake! Maybe we'll try again tomorrow. haha!
I'm SO disappointed. I took all these cute little videos of his birthday and Christmas, and now I cant' get them to upload. Maybe I'll try emailing them to a few of you so MAYBE you'll be able to see them that way.

Oh I miss seeing you! Next time we're in town we'll have to get together. OR if you ever come up to Spokane we'll meet up!
